We are a traditional independent press located in Raleigh, North Carolina, and proudly accessible to all writers of finely crafted contemporary fiction, literary fiction, and historical fiction. Regal House has three imprints: Fitzroy Books<\/a> that publishes Middle Grade and Young Adult fiction; Pact Press<\/a>, our social impact imprint, that publishes works that promote diversity, inclusion, and acceptance; and House of Kel<\/a> that publishes science fiction and fantasy. We publish short story collections through our W.S. Porter Prize<\/a> and poetry collections via our Terry J. Cox Poetry Award<\/a>.<\/p>\n

PLEASE NOTE:<\/strong> We are a traditional press, which means there is absolutely no cost to authors who publish with us<\/strong>. If anyone reaches out to you, asserting they are staff at Regal House, and request payment of any kind in order to further your manuscript through the acquisitions process, please know that this is a SCAM. Regal House staff will never request money from prospective authors, and the only individuals who will contact you are one of those listed on our RHP staff page.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Manuscript Reading Times & Acquisition Decisions<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Please do not send unrequested manuscripts<\/strong> or books; they will simply be recycled. If you wish us to review your ms, please go through our submissions process<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please note that we do not accept multiple submissions, but should we request a full, we will endeavor to provide you with an answer within three months of receipt of the manuscript.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once the acquisitions editor has finished reading your submission, and if they would like to recommend publication to the RHP team, your manuscript will be discussed at the next scheduled acquisitions meeting, which occur every two weeks. We have recently transitioned from three acquisitions meetings a year to a perpetual ongoing acquisitions process which allows us to move manuscripts through the process far more efficiently, which means less time waiting on the part of our prospective authors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you receive an invitation to proceed to the next stage of the acquisitions process, the RHP team will ask you for additional marketing information that may be useful in our assessment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
