Rachel Coonce was born in Texas, grew up in Florida, and now lives in Maryland with her partner and daughter. She earned her BA from St. John\u2019s College, her MFA from Sarah Lawrence College, and a fellowship from the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. Her nonfiction has received recognition from New Letters<\/em>, The Missouri Review<\/em>, and the Maryland State Arts Council. More than a decade ago, she cofounded a literary arts nonprofit in Washington, DC called The Inner Loop, through which she found her home among writers.
