She\u2019s\u00a0the author of\u00a0the novel\u00a0<em>Exile Music,\u00a0<\/em>which won Grand Prize in the Eyelands 2020 Book Awards. It also won the Multicultural and Historical International Book Awards, and was a finalist for the Lambda Literary Lesbian Fiction Award.\u00a0Previous books include\u00a0the novel\u00a0<em>The Ambassador\u2019s Wife<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0the memoir\u00a0<em>The Woman Who Fell From the Sky.\u00a0<\/em>She is also an essayist, short story writer, freelance book editor, journalist, writing coach, and mentor.\u00a0Her work has appeared in the\u00a0<em>New York Times<\/em>,\u00a0Mslexia\u2019s\u00a0<em>Best Women\u2019s Short Fiction 2023,\u00a0New Orleans Review<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Saranac Review<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Kenyon Review<\/em>,\u00a0<em>World Policy Journal<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Gay &amp; Lesbian Review<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Ninth Letter<\/em>, the <em>Bournemouth Writing Prize Anthology 2025<\/em>, <em>Action, Spectacle<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Mystery Weekly Magazine<\/em>, <em>The Week<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Time<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Life<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Peauxdunque Review<\/em>,\u00a0<em>The Washington Times<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Vogue UK<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Die Welt<\/em>, the\u00a0<em>New York Post<\/em>, and elsewhere. When not writing or reading, she loves getting lost in the streets of Paris or in the Cevennes mountains, as well as theater, yoga, ballet, and swimming\u2014although her favorite thing is talking about books and life with her husband and daughter.
