Carolyn Korsmeyer spent most of her career as a professor of philosophy before starting to write fiction. She has published five books of philosophy and three novels. The two kinds of writing are not as different as they might seem, for she has a longstanding interest in the different ways that ideas can be expressed, whether by means of a theoretical treatise or a good story. Her fictional work includes historical narratives as well as contemporary mystery. Reviewers praised Carolyn\u2019s first novel, Charlotte\u2019s Story<\/em> (2021), for the wry and witty voice of the narrator, Charlotte Lucas (familiar to readers of Pride and Prejudice<\/em>). Her second novel, Little Follies: A Mystery at the Millennium<\/em> (2023) is a thriller set in Krakow, one of her favorite cities. Riddle of Spirit and Bone (2025) <\/em>is a dual timeline narrative that features the spiritualist movement of the nineteenth century. Illusion, delusion, certainty, and doubt intermingle in the perspectives of the characters in that story. Her forthcoming book from Regal House, No Final Harbor<\/em>, is a historical novel that takes place in 1936, when three Americans visit Japan on the brink of war, seizing a chance to experience the glories of places where ancient traditions are rapidly changing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
